NEW VIDEO IN OUR SERIES - RAMADAN PREPARATION FOR NEW MUSLIMS.

The sweetness of fasting lies in the spiritual aspect. However, as a new Muslim if you find it difficult to overcome the physical act of fasting, it will be unlikely you reach the spiritual aspect. In this short video, we will give you 3 practical tips on how to physically prepare for Ramadaan.

I found this video very helpful...as this is my first Ramadan. I am wondering, are dates and water recommended for pre-sunrise or pre-sunrise and post-sunset?

Excellent to hear. We have more preparation videos coming soon InshaAllah.

Dates and water are recommended for both the pre-sunrise meal (suhoor) and post-sunset meal (iftaar). The Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: “The best suhoor for the believer is dates.” [Narrated by Abu Dawood]. In another statement he said, “When one of you breaks his fast, then let him do so with dried dates. And whoever does not find dates, then water, for it is purifying” [Narrated by at-Tirmidhi]. Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for the Ramadan tips. This will my very first Ramadan as a Muslim. But I have done a full Ramadan before because a Muslim friend had stomach ulcers & I wished to support him. The thing that I found very had was the hours of not drinking water. But by not drinking tea or coffee it became a little easier. Lots of love to all of my other new Muslim Sisters & brothers. May Allah make Ramadan a great time for you.
